I come from a background in fitness and have taught yoga and been a trainer to many, but over a year ago I was at work moving large boxes and instantly began to have low back pain. I was training for Hood to Coast, a 197 mile marathon, I was running and training aggressively, eventually the pain caught up with me and I could no longer ignore that something was definitely not OK. My low back pain turned into horrible sciatic pain down my right leg causing numbing in my right foot. After being diagnosed with a slipped disc I began doing intensive chiropractic decompression and massage therapy. I continued to try running against the Doctor's warnings and eventually made myself so incapacitated I could barely move. I have never felt so helpless, fitness was my forte, I should've know how to fix and strengthen my own body, but I couldn't. I got to the point where i didn't dare do anything for the fear of causing more problems. For the first time in my life I thought about getting a personal trainer but because of my background I didn't want just anyone. I had my eye on a few I had been watching for the last few years at the facility I trained at. Anthony really stood out to me, he came from the same fitness background that I had and he had a personal philosophy of treating the body as a whole. The combination of Anthony's assessments, training, and Pilate's background helped me find my core. I have never had a strong core and Anthony was able to guide me on how to find the strength from within to support and control all of my movements, which I thought I knew but he was able to guide me and help me feel it more intrinsically. I am grateful for his knowledge, intuition and passion for complete health and wellness.
